We are delighted to be doing some work with Carbon Kapture, whose mission is "to help rebalance nature and remove CO₂ from our oceans and atmosphere to reduce damage to our environment and ecosystems".
We will be supporting Carbon Kapture with the creation of an event plan for their 'Kelp-us-save-the-planet-a-thon', which is a hackathon-style event taking place on Monday 28th July 2021. We are also delighted to be an official event sponsor.
Since we are on a mission to becoming a regenerative business, we honestly can't think of many businesses we are better suited to partner up with, as Carbon Kapture's objective is to regenerate our oceans and fight climate change. Right up our street!
Kelp, a type of seaweed that can grow up to two feet per day (yes, you read that correctly!) can be a great ally in our fight against climate change. It is highly efficient at removing CO₂ from our ocean, which is one of the world's biggest carbon sinks, absorbing up to 25% of carbon emissions.
Kelp can also play a huge part in restoring our fish stocks. As it draws in carbon, it both oxygenates and reduces the acidity of the water creating a healthier marine ecosystem. In short, kelp is an ideal ecological carbon capture solution.
